IVF Timeline
1. Preparation IVF Cycle
Best if you can start acupuncture treatment 4-6 weeks before IVF cycle
Acupuncture works to restore the flow of Qi and blood, essence, body energy.
It can improve ovarian reserve and chances of getting pregnant. Plus, it regulates spiritual, mental, emotional and physical balance.

Enhances circulation to ovaries and uterus, reduce stress, strengthen immune system.
3. Ovulation Stimulation phase
Ovaries are stimulated to grow follicles.
ACUPUNCTURE:

Tonify the blood and nourish Kidney Yin, to help stimulate the production of follicles.

Reduce the side effects from the hormonal medication, Regulate the hormone to produce a larger number of follicles. The eggs grow to full maturity and improving the eggs quality.​
5. Preparation for
Embryo Transfer (ET)
Acupuncture is effective at increasing the thickness of uterus lining. A healthy adequate uterine lining is at least 8mm thick. In the case of the uterus, this helps develop the endometrium to prepare it to receive an embryo.

Acupuncture
Focus on increase the amount of blood flow to uterus, improve quality of the endometrium lining.

Start getting acupuncture treatment 1st day of period cycle. 2 times a week for 2-3 weeks.
Pre- & Post- Embryo Transfer:
30 minute before and after embryo transfer. ​
2. Priming Phase
IVF cycle begins on 1st day of your period. Women takes medication to suppress ovaries to prepare for stimulation.

Promote blood flow to ovaries, improve the function of the ovaries to produce better quality eggs, help to manage mental health.
4. Egg Retrieval
hCG injection for final maturation (trigger shot 2 days before egg retrieval)

Fertilization and incubation in the lab.
​

ACUPUNCTURE:
1 or 2 treatments in 2 days before egg retrieval.
​
Most important time to help with the final maturation of the eggs.
6. Implantation
and Pregnancy Test
After embryo transfer:
One or Two acupuncture treatments can improve the chances for successful implantation and prevent miscarriage.
